Budapest by Night!

What trip to Budapest is not complete without a night river cruise along the Danube? We were actually is search of a booze cruise but couldn't find anything beyond the hoards of Vicking Tours and the like. We were oversold by an over zealous young Hungarian tour guide that the 1-hour cruise served drinks, food and included a stop at Margaret Island, a small body of land in the middle of the Danube between Buda and Pest. Well, none of that was true: boat had no food or alcohol, did not stop at the island and was not even 1 hr long. However, a Columbian tourist took pity on us and shared her small bottle of wine with both Beth and I. Given we had not slept at all in the past 39 hours, we were delighted! Despite the over promising, the boat trip exceeded our expectations in every way! Absolutely beautiful and free booze in the end!!!
Finished the night by sampling some excellent Hungarian red white!

Chain or Lions Bridge is one of the main ones connecting Buda and Pest.
Neo-Classical Parliament Building
Front view-Parliament, the iconic symbol of Budapest. Hungarian Architect, Imre Steindl, won the competition and designed it after the Houses of Parliament in London.
Just love this building! Facade is elaborately Neo- Gothic, but the ground plan follow Baroque conventions.
One of the 8 bridges joining Buda and Pest.
